So, seeing as the last journal on my page was still from the beginning of the year, I figured I had better bring things a bit more up to date.

This spring I've had the pleasure of working on two art trade projects, and am quite happy with both the experience I got from my own work on them and the beautiful pieces which I received in return.

The first trade was done with :icondaroneasa:, for which I worked with her to produce three concept weapons for use by her original alien species.
The first is a light automatic infantry rifle, designed for large scale production and reliable operation in the field.

The second is a doubled barreled caplock action muzzle loaded pistol, designed with more of a handcrafted aesthetic.
Tempest Caplock Pistol Art Trade Concept by doug7070
The third is an advanced particle burst weapon, designed as a prototype weapon using more experimental technology.
Na'atsleri Avenger Art Trade Weapon Concept by doug7070
I had a great time working on all three, and enjoyed the challenge of designing weapons for a unique alien physiology.
In return I received this amazing rendition of a character from my own canon, Dauros Venn:

I also received this sketch, done during one of her livestreams of another character of mine, Jacken Rihan:
WIP - Jacken by Daroneasa

I also did a second trade more recently with :iconpraxcrown5:, for which I designed a modular weapon system for use by police forces.
The weapons are designed to fire less-lethal ammunition, and use a universal grip and trigger group with modular receivers to convert between a heavy pistol and light rifle platform.
1NS0N Weapon Display by doug7070
In return, I received this piece, which features both of my above characters, and features some amazing traditional art on the characters.

I greatly enjoyed trading with both people, and would love to undertake more trades in the future. If any other artists might be interested in a trade, don't hesitate to contact me. I enjoy working with novel concepts and designing new ones, and am always eager to receive art in forms which I don't work in.

I have also set up a Sketchfab account during this spring, and have started uploading work in progress models, several finished models, and other unreleased bits there.

Besides all that, I've also set up a personal IRC channel on the Freenode network at ##Talon-Corp. If you'd like to connect with me directly I'm always open for questions and discussion.

That's all I've got for now. I'm still very much alive and active, and more models will turn up when they're done (or at least presentable.) I may even get around to posting another journal before new years 2015 rolls around.

1NS0N Weapon Display by doug7070
1NS0N Weapon Display
This set of weapons is my part of an art trade done with the awesome :iconpraxcrown5:, for which I built the concept and the model of these weapons to fit with her design parameters.
The design goal of the 1NS0N weapon platform is to create a reliable, modular less lethal weapon solution for use by police forces. The weapons fire high caliber projectiles at low velocity, deploying a self-contained electrical shock stun system upon impact.

In the image you can see three different models of the weapon:

1NS0N-P:
The sidearm version of the weapon, this compact variant is designed to be easily carried at the hip or under the arm, allowing for fast deployment in emergency situations.
Its standard magazine holds 19 rounds of 12.7x35mm ammunition.
Click here to view in 3D via Sketchfab.

1NS0N-L:
The full sized version of the weapon, this variant is designed to be slung over the shoulder or carried in a back holster. It includes a highly compact folding stock for easy storage and deployment from vehicles.
Its standard magazine holds 12 rounds of 21.8x50mm ammunition.
Click here to view in 3D via Sketchfab.

1NS0N-L Custom:
A customized version of the 1NS0N-L variant, this weapon has been fitted with a pump-action by its owner.
It uses the same magazines as the standard 1NS0N-L model, and due to its action can also use nonstandard ammunition.
